A first class, guitar-wielding comedian with a captivating voice and wickedly dry sense of humour, Andy Askins has an expertly crafted routine littered with an eclectic mix of offbeat comic songs and parodies. Popular songs have been rewritten and given a perverse twist to tremendous comic effect.
With impeccable timing, Andy’s inventive and quirky songs are peppered with inspired patter and the darker material is sweetened by his impish demeanour which never fails to leave audiences in the palm of his hand.
On our TV screens, Andy was recently invited to appear on The John Bishop Show, performing a storming set at the Hackney Empire alongside a stellar line-up from the worlds of comedy and music. Having impressed audiences and executives alike, Andy was then invited back to perform on The John Bishop Christmas Show (the only act to be invited back from the series).
Andy’s other TV appearances include Live at The Comedy Store and two series of The World Stands-Up for Comedy Central. Andy is also a firm favourite of the Armed Forces, recently travelling to Iraq and Afghanistan to entertain the British troops.
Dark humour with faultless timing
Welsh comedian Kiri Pritchard-Mclean has been making something of a name for herself in the short time she’s being performing stand-up comedy and has achieved further success as one fourth of multi-award winning sketch group Gein’s Family Giftshop as the troupe’s writer and director.
A finalist in the prestigious Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year competition and Amused Moose Laugh Off Award, Kiri possesses a unique and assured comic voice. Whip smart with material to match, in 2016 she was received a Chortle Awards Best Compère nomination.
Kiri’s writing credits include Gein’s Family Giftshop’s Christmas for Sky Arts and Crackanory: The Truth about Suz for Dave.
Kiri was by far the funniest and quick witted, one to look out for in the future
Danny McLoughlin began performing stand-up in 2007 and quickly reached the finals of the Chortle Student Comedian of the Year competition. He went on to perform as part of the prestigious Big Value Comedy Show at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2009 and, the following year, supported Al Pitcher on his UK tour. More recently, he has supported both Micky Flanagan and Sean Lock on their national tours and was crowned Best MC at the UK Comedy Awards 2016.
With an amiable, confident stage presence and a well written set Danny delivers material with more than just an immediate pay-off line, preferring to take the joke one or two steps further. Confident enough to take a risk on stage he does so not to the detriment of the audience, keeping them laughing along or hanging on every word. Not many comics could get a laugh from the notion of retro chocolate bars but Danny manages a full, gag packed routine with ease.
Danny has also appeared on Dave’s One Night Stand alongside Al Murray, Andy Zaltzman and Richard Herring.
He can recite an advertising jingle and still get plenty of laughs
