Best known for her legendary one-woman shows, Jo Caulfield was recently nominated as “the best female Stand-Up in the country” by Chortle. She’s a regular guest on both Mock the Week and Have I Got News For You and has also appeared on Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow.
Jo wrote and starred in three series of her own critically acclaimed Radio 4 comedy show, It’s That Jo Caulfield Again, and her quick wit has led to her being in demand as a guest on a huge variety of radio shows including The News Quiz, Armando Iannucci’s Charm Offensive, The Now Show and The Unbelievable Truth with David Mitchell.
Jo is at her best in the live arena though, seamlessly weaving in and out of material and audience banter. In demand at all major UK comedy clubs, she has also performed in New York, Los Angeles, Amsterdam, Berlin, Munich, Hong Kong, Singapore and Dubai. Additionally, her hilarious and outrageous solo shows have become some of the fastest ticket sellers at the Edinburgh Fringe with sell-out shows each and every year.
One of Britain’s smartest comics
A sensational live performer, Yorkshire man, marathon runner and former (double award-winning) Time Out Comedian of the Year, Paul has long upheld his esteemed reputation as one of the finest stand-ups the UK has to offer. With a unique and distinctive style, he is noted for his effervescent physicality and skillful impressions, which bring alive exuberant, tender comic reflections on love, family and the day-to-day idiosyncrasies of 21st century living.
In 2013, after many years storming the circuit, Paul was given the opportunity to play to a wider audience joining Michael McIntyre as a special guest on Michael’s global arena tour and playing to millions of people across the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Norway, Dubai, Singapore and Hong Kong. Incredibly well received, Paul continues to support Michael on all his tours.
On TV, Paul has performed on Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow and Comedy Central’s The Comedy Store and The World Stands-Up. He has also presented The Big Breakfast and radio shows on XFM in London and Manchester. He was recently a contestant on Celebrity Come Dine With Me (where he scooped first place) and has just completed a stint as a Programme Associate on BBC One’s Michael McIntyre Chat Show.
Paul’s first love remains stand-up and he remains in great demand in the UK and across the globe, performing at all the major international comedy festivals including the prestigious Montreal Just For Laughs festival where he hosted the esteemed Britcom Gala.
Hilarious; nobody makes me laugh like Paul Tonkinson. Simply one of the greatest comics around. Go see him!
A joyous comic to behold, Edy Hurst is a master of playful high energy comedy combining odd ball lingo, guitar playing, a loop pedal and story telling.
Since winning the prestigious Tickled Pig competition in 2013, Edy has been performing across the country, with appearances on BBC Radio Lancashire, That’s Manchester and his own podcast ‘Fit to Burst’.
A manic ball of comedy energy
MC Phil Ellis
Deliciously unhinged, Phil’s performances are entirely unique. Audiences quickly become enraptured by his maverick charm, his ability to think on his feet meaning there is always a slight twist to his set, making each appearance fresh and thrilling.
Known for his chaotic stand-up and live performances, Phil broke onto the comedy scene with his widely acclaimed Edinburgh show, ‘Funz and Gamez’, which won the Panel Prize at the 2014 Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy Awards.
Phil is now making his way in TV, recording a pilot of Funz and Gamez with the BBC alongside credits on Drunk History, The Tapeface Tapes and Phil’s Ill: Dave’s Comedy Shorts.
Ellis sets such a cracking pace … he flits around the audience with his frisky, easy banter spreading a feeling of good-humoured fun
