Best known for her legendary one-woman shows, Jo Caulfield was recently nominated as “the best female Stand-Up in the country” by Chortle. She’s a regular guest on both Mock the Week and Have I Got News For You and has also appeared on Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow.
Jo wrote and starred in three series of her own critically acclaimed Radio 4 comedy show, It’s That Jo Caulfield Again, and her quick wit has led to her being in demand as a guest on a huge variety of radio shows including The News Quiz, Armando Iannucci’s Charm Offensive, The Now Show and The Unbelievable Truth with David Mitchell.
Jo is at her best in the live arena though, seamlessly weaving in and out of material and audience banter. In demand at all major UK comedy clubs, she has also performed in New York, Los Angeles, Amsterdam, Berlin, Munich, Hong Kong, Singapore and Dubai. Additionally, her hilarious and outrageous solo shows have become some of the fastest ticket sellers at the Edinburgh Fringe with sell-out shows each and every year.
One of Britain’s smartest comics
Apologetic Eton and Oxford alumnus Ivo started stand-up in 2009 at the age of eighteen and eight months later became the youngest ever winner of the prestigious So You Think You’re Funny? competition at the Edinburgh Fringe. This led the following year to nominations for Chortle Best Newcomer and Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year, and performances at Montreal’s Just For Laughs Festival and the Hollywood Fringe.
Since leaving university in Ivo he has become a regular fixture in the clubs and theatres of the UK comedy circuit, with a gauche charm and crafty, self-aware wit which has proved a hit with audiences of all ages, and led to appearances on BBC3’s Edinburgh Comedy Fest Live, Comedy Central’s Live at the Comedy Store, and various shows on BBC Radio 4, Five Live, and XFM.
Ivo’s two solo hours, 2013’s ‘Binoculars’ and 2014’s ‘Bow Ties & Johnnies’, had sold out runs at the Edinburgh Fringe and London’s Soho Theatre, and received a clutch of four and five star reviews, the latter described by the Evening Standard as “a joyous show … if you like your comedy with long words and beautiful linguistic flourishes, buy a ticket immediately.”
Beautifully constructed comedy
